While the exact nature of the writ has not been determined, it is considered a probable action pre- liminary to libel proceedings. In the pockets of several of the victims, the police said, were found bottles of aloohol each bearing a red label, ‘‘Beware, Poison.” About half of these found dead are known and the detectives de- clared they were confirmed 1sers of denatured alcohol.
