Formal announcements of the Yuletide vacation were made this forenoon by Superintendent R. S. Raven for the public schools, and by Charles W. Hawkesworth, acting chief of the Alaska Division of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, for the Federal government’s Indian school, and by Father W. G. La- Vasseur for the Catholic Parish school. Exercises On Wednesday Pupils of all the schools will hold exercises typifying the spirit of the season Wednesday afternoon. Public school pupils of the upper | grades will join with high school students in exercises in the assem- bly room of the high school build- ing. Public school pupils of the lower grades will have their programs in their respective rooms in the grade school building. Government School Program Government school pupils will hold their exercises in their own school building. Pupils of the Catholic school will present their progtam in the Cath- olic Parish Hall.
