The Florenz Ziegfeld success, “Kid ‘Boots,” with Cantor as star, ‘ran for three years in N York, setting a high attendance mark by playing to morz than a million people. It is safe to pre- dict that Cantor's first film will also roll up new records for pro- ductions of this kind, and that it will also definitely establish Ed- die as one of filmdom's hést Hets. “Kid Boots” convulsed last night's audience with one laugh after another. It starts in an east side clothing store. Cantor is the “come-on” who forcibly lures customers in from the street. Eddie finds himself enmeshed in a maze of difficulties wHen he fits, Malcom Waite, a husky swim- ming instructor, with a coat. Therefore, when Waite returns to get his money back—the fun be- gins. Clara Bow and Billie Dove are in the cast. The story concludes in rapid fashion with some of the funniest scenes ever filmed. Directed by Frank Tuttue, “Kid Boots” is one of .the best comedies seen this season. '1‘ “THREE MILES UP” IS | AT PALACE TOMORROW B3 = Pioneers! The enrollment in the N: E. A is more than 193,000, our® goal is set for 200,000 in 1929.” e RADIO. T0. REPLAGE ' 3 PETERSBURG CABLE Petersburg «will be cut off tae main line of the Washington- Alaska Military Cable on or about March 1 and will be served there- after only by the radio station which is now Dbeing installed here, according to announcement made this week by Corporal Emil E. Hill, Operator in Charge of the local station., A 200 watt radio % station is replacing the cable, | which is being cut off as a means | of increasing the general effic-| iency of the service and: also- to cut down the present expenses of the service, it is explained. Because of the great volume of traffic for Juneau and Seward, it [ has been found advisable ‘to in- stall automatic sending and re- ceiving equipment in crder to speed up the service and the loeal 23 |station, Wrangell and Sitka being in the circuit hampers operation of these mechanisms. These three cammunities. will therefore . be served by radio. — (Petersburg Press.)
