T. Tracy, San Francisco contractor, for the actual commengement of{ work, and it is expected that a| censiderable force of men will be sent out from Anchorage shortly to start construction. Mr. Tracy, member of the contracting firm of Jasper, Tracy & Company, of San Francisco, came north gn the last steamer accompanied by Mrs. Tracy and Frank 1. Reed, head of pany, and proceeded immediately to Eklutna, to look over the work which his firm has contracted to do and by the time he starts on his return trip to the States on Saturday he will have completed all of the arrangements of con- struction. He was accompanied from San Francisco alse by 0. J Moland, resident engineer, who will have charge of the work for the company, under the general supervision of Harold 1. Wood, construction engineer for the An- chorage Light & Power company. [ The san Francisco gomcern has! been awarded the contract to erect the power house at Eklutna, con- struct the 70-foot dam in the can- yon, the retaining dam in the lake/ and to drive the tunnel.
