Gillette, en er officer of the Alaska Ros Commission is leaving Juneau on the steamer Alameda for the Westward enroute to Fairbanks. He expects to be absent from his local headquarters until about March 1. From Fairbanks, Major Gillette will go by dog team to Livengood and if time provides will then go into the Kantishna district. He will investigate conditions of the winter trails, shelter cabins and the transportation situation gen- erally, in those areas.
