Baker & Son iS “WHERE QUALITY AND PRICES MEET” Corpus Christi Procession. St. Mary’s Congregation cele- brated last Sunday in a most im- pressive manner the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, ie, the Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist, commonly called the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. A large crowd had: gathered for the cele- bration of this principal feast of the Catholic church. The service commenced at ten o’clock with a sermon on the sub- ject of the day, followed by a sol- emn high mass on the beautifully decorated altar, but the special feature was the grand procession around the church property. Led by Mr. John Engel as marshal it was opened by altar boys carrying the processional cross and torches, and were followed by the pupils of St. Joseph’s school according to their grades, by the young la- dies and young men of the Parish with their banner. Next came 12 altar boys bearing torches and swinging censers with frank- incense. The center of the pro- cession was of course the Holy Eucharist carried in a magnificent Monstrance under a new silken and richly embroidered canopy. The church choir, married men and ladies made up the other half of the procession. From a spe- cially erected altar at the porch of the rectory solemn benediction was given in the open air with the Blessed Sacrament. The able members of St. Mary’s Church rendered the beautiful hymns ap- propriate for the occasion in a most efficient and devotional manner. The celebration was favored by unexpectedly fine weather and will long be remembered by the participants. ——0——- Death of Ah Lee. Ah Lee, an old Chinaman who had been living alone for many years on Salmon river, west of Keuterville, was found dead Sun- day near his cabin. He evident- ly died of old age, as he was about 100 years old, as near as his ac- quaintances could figure out. Lee followed mining at Elk City in this county many years ago, and August Schroeder, who was well acquainted with him, says that Lee was.a very old man when he first came to Salmon river 35 years a Neighbors gave the old China- man a decent burial under a pine tree on the Schroeder place near Lee’s cabin. ; pA CI Weather Report for May [from St. Michaels Monastery] Maximum, 3rd Minimum, 25th 28 Total precipitation, inches. . .1.87 Total snowfall, inches.......5,03 Month was rather cold for gen- eral growth. No matter what your line of work may be, you are cevoting your time, your energies, and a large share of your profits to the winning of a great war. In dedicating ourselves to so huge a task, we must call upon every resource that is available. At home—as on the firing line—our vital problem of transportation can be very largely solved by the motor car and motor truck. With vast supplies moving to the seaboard, it becomes a patriotic duty to travel by the road and thus release railway equipment for the government. : The hustling executive must have the right of way—he must swing down the line on high gear—he must realize that the time saving automobile is essential to his success and the cause which he champions. And now just a word about our product. The Paige is merely one of America’s high grade motor cars, but we are proud of the part that it is playing in this national crisis. In the field of mechanical products, the Paige nameplate stands as an unques- tioned guarantee of honest manufacturing and fair dealing. We ask you to buy that nameplate—rather than four wheels and a painted body. We ask you to buy a reputation that has endured through many fitful periods in the motor car industry —a reputation that will endure so long as Paige cars are made for and sold to the American people.
