Mr. and Mrs. Will Kelsey spent a couple of days with friends at Winchester this week. Charley Staal’s large new barn at his fine farm home north of town is nearing completion. P. H. Dye, Fat Hamlin and Dr. Boyce all made trips to the Joseph Plains country on business within the last week. Miss Mabel Greenough of Spring Camp passed through Cot- tonwood Monday to Lewiston, where she will visit friends for a few days. Jake Richards, the well known tailor of Grangeville, left Monday for Fort George Wright near Spo- kane, where he will try to enlist in the army. Geo. W. Duncan of Clarkston, a veteran of the Civil war, is visit- ing this week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. S. Griner at Greencreek. A marriage license has been granted to Otto Aichlmayr and Miss Mary Scherer. The date for their marriage has been set for June 18th, Miss Meta Schroeder returned Monday to resume her studies in the state normal school at Lewis- ton, after a brief vacation at her home near Cottonwood.
