Gornall and little daughter went to Spokane on Wednesday to visit relatives for several weeks, Mrs. Fred Mertes left Monday for her home at Vulcan, Alberta, after several months’ visit here with relatives—the Terhaar fami-' lies. A number of her young friends gave a surprise party to Miss Car- oline Terhaar at her home in Cottonwood Monday evening, in honor of her 20th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Jas, A. McKinley left Sunday for their home in Towa, after a very pleasant visit of three months with their rela- tives here and at Clarkston. F. J. Pfannebecker, one of the leading farmers of the county, was in town Saturday from his home near Winona on business and made this office a pleasant eall. i W.R. He expects to ship 152 of his prime steers from there to Seattle this week. E. D. Lamb and son Arthur, former residents of this section, now residing on a ranch at North Yakima, grected their many friends here several days this week, leaving for home Tuesday. Mrs. Henry Uhlenkott and young daughter, Gertie, went to Spokane Tuesday to consult an eye specialist. Mrs. Uhlenkott has had considerable trouble with her eyes recently and has made several trips to Spokane for treat- ment, The Cottonwood Basketball Club is advertising a big “Jazz” dance on next Tuesday night, Feb. 12, which will be the last dance in Cottonwood until April. The musie will be furnished by jazz experts from Grangeville and a big time is expected. The high school girls will serve punch for the gymnasium benefit. The dance tickets will be $1.00.
