BOSTON STORE, 118 and 120 State-st. __ | Boole INTERESTING TO TH E PUBLIC, A LETTER FROM A PATROM OF THE BANKRUPT STORE CHICAGO, July 6, 18843, Proprietor Bankrupt Store : 4 DEAR SIR: I notice you do some effective advertising for your Carpet Department; but permit me to point out to you one feature in the management of that depart- ment to which you have never drawn the attention of your cus- tomers, but which I think, if it was perfectly understood, would bring you even more trade than you are having already, viz: Your charges for sewing Carpets are only 4 cts. per yard, while all the other stores charge 10 cts.; also for the laying of Carpets the usual charges aresio cts. per yard, and your charges are ouly qc per yard, which makes altogether a saving of 12 cts. per yard on each yard of Carpet bought. Now my convic- tion is, that if you would make this generally known, this item of sav- ing alone, without any other con- sideration, would bring you lots oftrade. Please excuse me for addressing myself to you in this manner, but Ilike to see justice done, and therefore I wrote this to you at the risk of being called a busybody. Respectfully yours, A PATRON t Of the Bankrupt Store. Thé foregoing ex- plains itself, and we are ever so much pleased to see that our efforts to please the people. are so much appreciated; and we shall endeavor to mer- it all such interest which our *<patrons seem to take in us. Steinway Upright Pianos, The unerrin onstrates that the Steinway Up- right alone équals the Grand or Square in durability, while in the all-important feature of capacity for long standing in tune it excels either, and possesses in a super- lative degree the higher qualities which have made the Steinway the standard Piano of the world. The many thousands of Steinway Up- rights purchased in Chicago dur- ing the past twenty years are liy- ing witnesses of their own extraor- dinary power of endurance. Quality and durability consid- ered, the Steinway is the cheapest Piano manufactured. LYON & HEALY, State & Monroe-sts. PIANOFORTES.
