For the past seventeen years onr house has been identifled with the sale of Stein- way Pianes in Chicego, during the great- er portion of which period it was the only establishment carrying the bulk of its piano stock in Uprights, other houses, for obvious reasons, conflning themselves mainly to Squares. ‘We recognized at an early date that the Steinway was the ONLY RELIABLE UP- RIGHT IN THE MARKET, and accord- ingly manifested our faith by makinga specialty of it and bringing its trans- cendent merits prominently before the public. As is well known, the many thonsands of Steinway Uprights introduced by us .into happy Western homes are constantly singing their own praises and speaking golden words for Steinway & Sons and Lyon & Healy, f It should be remembered to the credit of the Messrs. Steinway, that to them, and to them alone, belongs the distin- guished honor of bringing the Upright Piano to its present high state of perfec- tion. They triumphed where ALL man- ufacturers who preceded them failed, the other makers having brought the Upright Piano into a disrepute from which it suf- fers even to this day. THE STEINWAY UPRIGHT ALONE HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME in both hemispheres and undes the most se- vere trials. It has longbeen the popular American Home Piano. It is recognized the world over as THE LEADING PAR- LOR PIANO OF THE AGE, and is des- tined to be the Piano of the Future. It appears before a diseriminating public to-day, not as a claimant for recognition on the score of some new and untried in- vention, whieh, like so many other so- called improvements, may be abandoned to-morrows*but it bases its claims for su- periority largely on that conquering ar- ray of TIME-TRIED PATENTS which contributed so materially to Steinway’s great and unparalleled: victories in the |, art of piano-building. A piano should be selected with a view to its lasting for a lifetime, and the' Steinway Upright alone possesses this quality, Procure a Steinway and the work will be complete. Should you pur- chase any othier make you simply invest in an experiment, and one likely to be exchanged for a Steinway at some future time. ; LYON & HRALY, State and Menroe-sts. TEA{ Al.VD COFFEES.
