INDIANA. GREENBACK DEFECTION. Spectat Disputeh to Ths Chicago Tribune, Inpianarouis,-Ind., Sept. 25.—The with- drawal of .J. B, Yeagley and Noah W. Park- er trom‘the Nutional ticket, annoucef this morning in the Sentinel, has been the theme of conversation in all political circles. Yeag- ley was a candidate: for Secretary.of State and Parker for the State Senate, and both withdraw in. favor:of their: Democratic op- ponents, giving as their reason “The convic- tion that the National party-is and will be on- able to-secure the financial reforms which its platform demands, and that in the Demo-., cratic party they see a chance to secure it, as >> the mass.of that.organization are Green- backers at heart.” .. ‘This-action was not s surprise to. the Na- tionals, for Yeagley’s case had been passed upon by their State Convention, and he was to be removed next. week. But he stole a march on them by withdrawing, thus reliev- ing the Committee of-a responsibility which they were to assume, ontyybecause Yeagioy’s case was a very aggravated one. In an interview touching the matter, a member of the State Comunittee stated. that Yeagley has been dissatisfied with bis posi- tion for some time, and whenever he visited the committee rooms he prophesied Landers” election by 15,000 majority, intimating that it was USELESS TO CONTINUE THE CAMPAIGN.
