On motion of Ald, Ballard, the rules of the Council were suspended for the purpose of con- sidering and passing an ordinance for the re- moval of dead animals from the city limits, pro- pared by the Corporation Counsel. ‘Ald. Ballard stated that this ordinanco was similar to the onc reported to the Council two weeksazo. by the Committes, only this one was a littic more stringent, ‘Ald, Turner snid this ordinance wae unlike the one reported to the Councll, and hie did not approve of this one, for the rcnson that it created a monopoly in dead animale: and that {t would not allow the owner of ndead horse, for inatance, to soll to whom he pleased, but compelled him to sell it.to thecontractors.
