The subject, however, continuces of absorbing inter- est, and to-day Inquiries were made by numerous persons ot places where news concerning the elections Is usually obtained. A large number of private tetegrams are seut hence for informa- tion concerning Louislann and Florida, although nothing officlal on the subject -can be expected for some days. Mcanwhile, cach party claims the clection of its respective candldates. A SUGOESTION. Trominent gentlemen say would intimate that the vacancies in the Loulsi- ana Returning Board should be filled by persons of known loneaty, and, therefore, baving the confidence of the public, and if this should be doue, there could be no cause for complaint in any quarter of the result to be reported.
