WHAT THE GIAND LODGE DID. The Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias con- vened in regular sessionlast Tuesday and lasted three days. Matters in the jurisdiction had for sonje time previous been in-a rather chaotic con- dition, on account, a8 mauy claimed, of the il- legal action of Grand Chancellor Rice, in trane- ferring hus antlority to the Vice Chancellor. Past Grand Cnancellor David J. Lyon wss se- Jected 28 the spokesman for the protesting Euights, and on the opening of the Lodge made war upon the authorities as the consequouce, and nith such success that the Lodge was de- clared not open. Finally P. G. C. Rice assumed the chair, and then requested P. G. C.D.J. Lyon, P. G.C. Jobn Sprague, P. G. C. Jobn White, and P. C, Bonner to retiro until their status was disposed of and determined. D. J. Lvon again protested for the reason as ho claimed, of inviolably proserviog all legal rights upon which he in commou with the others might rely.” For a time everything wore the aspect and gave promiss of a genuine Pythian sensalion, but fortunately after the re- tiroment of the brotbers, they were declared to ba1in good and regular standing. The decis- ion of the Grand Vice was reversed in the mat~ ter of P. G. C. D. J. Lyon, who was declared the legal supreme roprescutative to the Supreme Lodge. This result gave upiversal satisfaction to all factions, and at the hour of adjournment the body was a anit. Tho odicers were subse- quently elected and the legisiation:perfocted. i GRAND LODGE OF NEGRASZA.
