The games playod, ace counts of which will bo found below, were in many respocts romarkable, and proved highly entertnining to thoso who witnessed thom, not & few of whom woro ladies, meont is rosumed, the olegant Exposition table of the J. M. Brunswick & Balke Company, which haa given so much satisfaction to the. players, will give placo to ono of another manufactiro, the contract which tho managers eutsred into stipulating that four makes of tablos shall bo al- lowed cgual represontation. THE TIIRD GANE of tho tournament was begun at- half-past 1 o'clock betwoon Oyrillo Dion, of New York, and Georgo Blosson, of Lhis city, Mr, Michael Foloy was the reforce, It was conceded even by Slos- son himsolf that ho stood but & poor show of winning, but he underostimated himself. The first . 100 points of the game, viowed a8 & contest botweon playors supposed to possoss about equal skill, was vory uninteresting, Dion having it all his own way, but a8 an oxhibition of billiards on tho part of the visiting playor it was well worth secivg. Tn tho first quarter of the matoh Dion made four double-figaro runs, rang- ing from 10 to 21, and, whilo boing favored with good brenks, played gonerally with that grace “and precision which is peculiarly his own. Slos- son pliyed vory poorly at tho commoncemont of the game, but he improved as it progroseed, and at times played remarkably well, In tho bighth ioning he mado 21, and in the fiftecnth and slx- teonth 11 nud 16 Tespoctively, which placod him on protty oven torme with his compoetitor, who, ot this-stage of - the gamo, was not doing himeelf Justico. By s run’of 10 in tho ninotoonth inning Dion turned his first hundrod, tho score staud- ing 108 to 71 in Lis favor. Slosson, in tho twon- ty-first inning, complotoly took tho wind out of his snils by n cloverly axecutod run of 43, whioh doveloped all his foatures of nursing and playing for position, Tho run brought him around tho corner and put him ahend of Dion, tha score standing 143 to 115, and subsequent runs of 24, 14, ond 21 still further improved his chances of Dion knocked out an occasional double-figure - run, but he played in bad neral thing, and did not seem mony with the Bcore 18 marked by ®overal clphors and small runs at thia stage of tho gamo, it s yosslblo for him to play with anythiu ry skill. Slosson, on tho of ‘was in his best vein, and manipulated tho balls ‘with rare judgment aud cooluces, ‘not entel up with him, though ho tried in ovory 8ible way, Evory now and then the young icagonn would got in a double-figure run ranging from 11 _to 94, which kopt In tho forty-sevonth innin & run _of 15 brought him into his lasl bundred, the scoro thon standing 306 to 209. Dion, seoing defent by & more boy staring him in the faco, bogan to do soma decent playing, aud tho advantago of his young opponont rapldly do- oreaged boforo runs of 26, *was mado in the flfty-seventh inning, and Cynille on his last hundred, the score_boing 388 A mn of 17 two in- to work upon, and as Blosson began show sigos‘of weaknoss in a few shots, hig wary competitor improved tho nppearnnce of his string by additions of 17 and 24, 'They came * in good timo, as Slogson in tho sixty-fourth ‘mado n splendid run of b4, which put him and loft him but a fow points to go. Dion followed with 12, and sgain scoured the lead. & points iore now loft for him to make, whilo Blosson had but12. The game bocame ox- citing as each player, aflor making two or d, eithor from norvousness or looked-for_accident. Dion Iind but 1 to go, Blosson had 6, and, after making 8 of them, wns unfortunate enough to ‘make o miscus, which lost him the game.
