Tho men dispatched was uuable to find the Captain at tho First Precinct Station; he had gone away at 2 o'clock, no one know whore, and this in- formation wasg duly reported to tho Board, The Suporintendont thon telographed to the South Sido Sub-Polico Btations, thinking Hickey might nave gono around on o tour of inepection. Ho, lowever, had not visited them, and, G o'clock having wrrived, the Commissioners decided to romain in session until 6, to soo if La would not bo heard from, During the hour Commissionors Sheridan and Mason talkod about the conference the latter and Commissioner Wright had had on Thuraday aftornoou with the Corporation Counsel.
