An adjourned meeting of the citizens of the “Beventh Ward was held at the house of John Ruchl, No. 113 West Sixtoonth street, on Satur- day evening, for the purpose of nominating an independent candidate for the offico of Alder- man. The meeting was called to order by the appointment of Wim. Raleigh as Chairman, and Fred. Beifurth as Secretary. The Chairman ex- plained the object of the meeting, when, on mo- tion of Mr. John Griffin, 5 committea of nine was appointed, two from cach precinct, and one at large, to present the nemes of propor- persons_to the meoting to be balloted for s candidate for the office of Alderman.
