Rogers recently died leaving an estate of $25,000,000. The law that caused Mr, Coe to leave the state would have taken from the state a million and a half tax. He would have been content to remain with the old statute in effect, and paid the half million tax. Now the legislature seems willing to put the padlock on the stable door after the horse has been stolen. The only sure way to attract men of wealth, as well as make Wyoming a sum- mer resort, is to emulate Florida and abolish inheritance taxes alto- gether.
