Vincent Lowe, 7-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. H, J. Lowe, had a thrilling coast down Fifth street. hill but {t nearly cost him him his life, His flying sled did not stop when it came to thé barricaded intersec- tion of Fifth and Grant streets. He shot under the ropes and crashed in- to the rear whell of a passing car. His sled was demolishedand he was painfully injured, suffering a slight concusion of the brain and lacera- tions that necessitated several stiches. He ts reported by his father who is assistant deputy spervisor of the bureau of mines, to be get- ting along nicely and will probably return to his class at East Casper school the latter part of the week. The near-tragedy of Vincent Lowe has caused city officials to call a halt to coasting on Fifth street hill which was roped off so that cars could not cut across the course used by the kiddies. In other parts of Casper young- sters are speeding down hills which are in no way protécted from traffic and where cars are constantly whiz- zing by. Parents are asked by the city street department to keep their children from using the: streets: for coasting since severe injuries and even death are liable to occur. —————— Millions Go to Trust Fund ‘For Charity |.
