So many important sequences of the picture-play ile in and around this litle pioneer hamlet that the producers were confronted with the necessity of building an entire new town of more than twenty log houses, some of them rather large, but with no plan to guide them in the work. Investigation, however, revealed that the little town had Don’t Trifle With Kidney Trouble Perhaps at the first you don’t realize the ney Trobule. Even before Lincoln left New Salem for Springfield the town was declining to its fall. The neigh- boring town of Petersburg was al sorbing it, and Before Lincoln went to the White House the town was Imost an abandoned place, which jater became merely a memory. A few years ago the state of New Salem was brought to the no- tice of a well known journalist, who purchased the site of sixty- two acres for $16,000 and presented it to the Lincoln League of Peters- burg, with the stipulation that the league should restore the hamlet as -| it was in Lincoln's time. This wor has been faithfully carried out and the New Salem of Lincoln and Anne Rutledge once more nestles among’ the elms, hick- ories, oaks and wild cherries on the heights above the lordly Sangam- mon, 80 beloved by them both. And this town in its entirety was reproduced in California for use in “Abraham Lincoln.” peal? Ce Sh. Another appearance of Madge Rush is on the Arkeon's slate for tonight. This elever dancer will give several Russian and oriental interpretations.
