"Ma" Ferguson today won the first step in the court fight to have her disquatified as Democratic nom- Inee for governor of Texas. An in- junction to keep her name off the ‘Trinity Lutheran. W. C. REHWALDT, ‘PASTOR. Text, Psalm Il, 4: “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the _Lord shall haye them in derision." Subject: “The Laughter of God.” We-are fortunate to find an ex- planation, of the Psalm in the fourth chapter of the Acts. There the Psalm. is quoted and then follows the statement that it was fulnilea when Herod, and. Pontinus Pilaté, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together against Jesus. . Following, this lead of the Spirit, we find that the inter- national rebellion.described in this Psalm includes all opposition agidnst the rulevof Christ and preaching of Christ crucified from tlie times of the apostles down to: the great Armageddon of'the Apocalypse. The stoning of Stephen, the sufférings of Paul, the persecution of Christians under the Roman emperors and the Roman popes, the present attacks upon the fundamentals of Christian doctrine—all these are framed in the picture ‘the Prophet presefits. Look- ing back. nearly 3,000 years since the Rsalm was written, we sce as leaders .in this rebellion not only Arius, one of the first of false teach- ors, but also the Freethinkers of Ongland, the Atheists. of. France, the Ratlonalists of Germany, the Bolshevists of Russia, all engaged in the mad struggle to blast away the Rock of Ages, Christ, and make this a _Bibleless and Christless world. - Will they have success?
