I have never during this campaign so much as suggested to “Jack Jones” a proposition regarding a trade in which Mr. Massee or anyone else was considered. I have not asked nor cared totiee Mr. Fuller. _T have not at any time discussed with “Jack Jones” or anyone else the possibility of having Fuller leave town; his being here or leaving has at all times been a matter of supreme indifference so far as I was concerned.
