fcagsy Morera t et aeo rm aes JWCK HOLT HS OLE OF CH AMERICAN I FILM AT THE. RIALTO In England it 1s considered bad form to make an open show of senfi- = ment. In the United States young * folks think nothing of uttering = cooing words, exchanging flirtatious glances or even of appearing in pub- arms about AS CPERUDD ENCE TASER TENE SORES ERATE SER EDR Cr Dee eee le with “her” = waist. . It is this intrusion of American = carefree display of romance into the = staid course of English custom that = makes “A Gentleman of Leisure,” a Paramount ploture starring Jack = Holt ‘now on view at the Rialto 1 theater, such a decidedly different and entertaining photoplay. Whi Holt, enacting the role hy American with lots of nd time, falls in love with glish girl of royal birth, played by Sigrid Holmquist, he > brushes every convention aside and + rushes through a romance as excit- * ing as it is flurried. The picture Is well worth while. -“CYTHERER” PHOTOPLAY OF MAN SEEKING LOVE In “Cytherea” which opened yes- = terday at the America theater, Lewis Stone has another of those parts in East Terraces lots will in- crease in value. KPa which he enacts the role of a man who would recall his youth and youthful love again. When a man is past 40 and is married and has a family he is not expected to go searching for romance. Neither should Lee Randon whose character is interpreted by Stone, but he does just the same and the woman in the case is tho incarnation of his doll “Cytherea,” goddeas of love, Alma Rubens, Dark hair that at- tracts, dark eyes that flash, a form supple, a face with all the beauty a man of Randon’s type could de- sire, this is Cytherea. It {s a pecullar thng that the entanglement is gotten into just as Randon has gone on a mission to prevent another man from leaving his wife. He succeeds in the mis- sion but in the end leayes his own wife, goes to Cuba with the hope of finding the romance and adventure that have eluded him. The old fashioned wife, played by Irene Rich, stays at home. The denoyment of this situation is a powerful one. The climax is unexpected and gripping in its in- tensity, and the manner in which the strange love tangle is solved sounds a ringing moral. “DANGEROUS TRAIL” 1S OBTAINED FOR AMERICH On Friday end Saturday the America theater ‘will present ‘The Dangerous Trail," a gripping story of the northiand with a fine cast, including Irene Rich, Noah Beery, Tully Marshall and Jack Curtis.
