PAGE EIGHT. SOVIET _AUSGIA MAKES DEMAND ON THE POLES WARSAW, May 14.—The Polish government received a note from Soviet Russia demanding bet- ter treatment of the Ukranians and White Ruthenians in Polish terri- tory. The note quotes article sev- en of the treaty of Riga between the two countries providing for the sat- isfactory settlement of the question of minorities on both sides. The note is interpreted here as inspired by a desire to expand the scope of the soviet Influence on the Polish borderiand—a desire given expres: sion by the soviet general executive ; committee. During the Inst few months there has been a continuous effort from Russian sources to provoke trouble along the Pollsh eastern frontier, it fm asserted in Polish political quar- ters, through the operations of rais- ing bands and an espionage organ- fzation, Poland, tt is asserted, has remained cool under this provocation and the government's answer to the Russian note, in detafled form ts ex- pected to be ready within three days. Poland has received a German note demanding better treatment for the Germans in Polish upper Stlesia. In view of the present Russo-German Imbroglio the co-tncldence ts con- aidered accidental QUAKE FELT IN BAVARIA MUNICH, Bavaria, May 14.—A slight earthquake shock was felt here yesterday, ‘Phe center of the disturbance is believed to have been | in the middle Alps. ‘The tremors were noted only in the upper stories of houses. Today labor is fully engaged at a compensation that places it on a vastly higher plane than that of other nations of the earth. The Republican party is the traditional friend of labor and its legislation will reflect further beneficial laws in its interest if en- trusted with power. Minority Rule. | Under a representative form of government in “which _ political parties rule the majority must con- trol. We condemn the action of small blocs and minorities who de- feat the will of the people, and who evade all responsibility to the party electing them. Relief of Agriculture. ‘The importance of the farmer and stockman 's recognized. If Wyo- ming is to continue to prosper the ranch and the farm must have proper recognition from the legis- lator in both the state and national halls. We advocate co-operation among farmers and stockmen, in order that they may derive a larger share of the fruits of their toil. They should receive a price com- mensurate with the labor and the risk involved. Truth in Fabric, Woe believe that all articles of commerce should stand squarely upon merit and to that end pledge our representatives in national and state legislative halls to the support of truth in fabric measures. Reclamation Service. We heartily endorse the present policy of the Republican admin{stra- tion, and especially commend Pres!- dent Coolidge and Secretary Work for their efforts to relieve the settlers, on the reclamation projects, of the heavy burdens of constru tion, maintenance, drainage penalty and interest charges, and thelr re cently announced program should be immediately enacted into Jaw. Reclamation Oil Royalties. The state of Wyoming has, and 1 now, the largest contributc royalty money to the fr ‘ fund of the United Stat a metter of right and justice a reason- able portion of these royalty funds now expended in other states should be returned and expended in this state in the development and drain- age of our areas, Soldier Reliet. The Republican party has always been the friend of the soldier and in the future as in the past will give the nation’s defenders such meas- ures of relief as tho exigencies of the situation would seem to demand. Republican Officials, Since Wyoming entered statehood there has been angalmost continuous line of efficient Republican admir mately two ‘and one half millions were paid to the common schools from oil royalties. Woe Stand “Pat.” Mindful of the many and distin- guished services rendered the Re- publican party of Wyoming by Honorable Patrick Sullivan, national committeeman since 1912, it is the request of this convention that the delegates to the national convention, this day select and re-elect the Honorable Patrick Sullivan as na- tional committeeman for Wyoming for the ensuing term of four years, Child Labor. We urge the adoption by the states of the child labor constitu: tional amendment as proposed in the joint resolution now pending in congress. Full Voting Power for Women Members. As the matter of making the asso- clate women members of the na- tional committee full voting mem- bers ts to be determined at the Cleveland convention, and Wyoming is the original suffrage state, our delegation to the national conven: ion is urged to vote for its adoption. For Expert Securities recommend a constitutional nt on tax exempt securities nd urge its adoption by the several states. Support The President Prosperity at home, peace and g00d will abroad, these are the fruits of the wise administration of publf> affairs by men who have moved steadily forward, confident of the soundness of their principles and of the support of their country.” We heartily endorse the adminis. tration of Presideut Coolidge and pledge him our loyal support in his efforts to preserve honest adminis tration and to promote the efficiency of the government. Succeeding to his high office through the death of his beloved predecessor, he has hown unfaltering courage in deal- ing with the problems which con fronted him. We commend the cal mness and polse with which he meets ench situation as tt arises, and his firmness in adhering to the course which his judgment approv- ed, regardless of considerations of political expedie r of the effect upon himself and we submit that these are the very qualities of which our country and the world stand in greatest need at the present time, and the delegates this day selected to represent the Republican part of Wyoming are hereby solemnly in- structed thelr votes in the d ntion at Cleveland for Coolidge for President and y honorable means to air ation so long as he shall a candidate before that conven- commend the long faithful and le service of Francis E. War ® senator Jn the congress of honor ren, the United States from the State of Wyoming, and point with just pride to the record of his stewardship. We further candidacy to nuceee i upon the yyal Republic Wyoming to ke his nomination at the pri- martes, and his election at the polls, thelr first order of bust In this day of radk 1k upon the constitution of o1 fathers and awsault upon the kacred institutions of our beloved Republic, let the Re publican party of Wyoming return to the Unite States senate a man In whose loyalty there is no doubt and in whose wisdom and faithful nes there is no question. It Is a great eatisfaction to the Republican party of Wyoming, in tion of the judgment of tt e of this sta olecting him thelr represer in congress n 1922, to say that in his brief ser. vice, et ng @ year and a half, no trations, The present Republican state offictals have been no excep: tion to the ru! nd we commend them for the excellent manner in which they have performed their public duties Farm Loan We point with pride to the wise acts of legisiation of our Republican legislatures and particularly to the farm loan act law, the legislation under which the state may purchase irrigation and drainage bonds and the Inw providing for the sem! annval payment of taxe We would especially recommend that our next legislature amend and enact those of our laws which now are in lict with the opera tion of the Federal Farm Loan « the Foderal Intermediate Credit act for the t t of: the stock Schools and Oil Royalties We recommend recent Republican legislation whereby the school dis tritts of tho state have been en riched ond taxpayers relieved of wteater burdons, In 1923 approxi member of the house of representa tives has rendered more efficient ser: vice to his constituents, to his state and to his nation than Charles BH. Winter, of Wyoming. By his unus- ual qualifications, his high attain- mvnts, he has risen, in a congress of four hundred and thirty-five mem- bers to a position of prestige and in- fluence which mark him as a legis: lator of wisdom and usefulness to his country. It is gratifying to Wyom- ing to know that Charles E, Win- ter's addresses upon oil matters have been accepted for truth and fact, not only in congress, but throughout the country. He has performed a tre- mendous service to the people of this state in correcting misinforma- tion and reducing exaggeration to facts and figures upon all matters concerning Wyoming's chief product. It is with the greatest cordiality, and faith in Charles E. Winter, that this convention of his fellow citizens endorse his candidacy for nomina- tion and re-election at the afproach- ing primaries and election. With these declarations we go be- fore the people of Wyoming with confidence In our cause and the hope of their approval and endorsement In November. DOBBIN REALTY CO.
