PAGE SIX, RIALTO DRAMA TONIGHT TELLS HUMAN STORY OF BROADWAY MIGHT LIFE In one of the most human docu- ments over written about the life of those who exist on New York's Great White Way in the Roaring Forties, Earl Derr Biggers described the rise and fall of a wonderful character who @oes “Broadway Broke.” Tak- ing that significant theme, along with the story, Murray W. Garsson has made a special production, re- leased by Selznick Distributing cor- poration, which comes to the Rialto theater today for a two day en- gagement. Satisfied that the*story would tell the world the truth about Broad- way, Mr, Garsson sought only the proper artists to interpret the char- acters, In a brilliant stroke he se- lected Mary Carr, the “Ma Benton" of “Over the Hill,” for the leading role. By strange coincidence the story of “Broadway Broke” 4s al- most a narrative of her own life, step by step through the Roaring Fort en, Percy Marmont, the bril- young star of “If Winter Comes," from A. 8. M, Hutchinson's novel, ‘was chosen to play the mas- culine lead and a powerful cast was named to support them. This group includes Maclyn Arbuckle, Macey Harlan, Dore Davidson, Billy Quirk, Albert Phillips, Gladys Leslie, Hen- rietta Crbsman, Sally Crute, Ed- ward Earle, Plerre Gendron and Les- lie King. The eskerpaanasy was directed by J. Searle Da REAL SHH HRA 1S SHOWN IN FILM COMING HERE “A Son of the Sahara,” the First National picture coming to the America, theater Fri day and Satur- heralded as one of the most lous screen productions of the year. It was produced in the Sahara desert under the direction of Edwin Carewe. ‘The principal players who went with Mr. Carewe to Algeria to film, this picture were Bert Lytell, Claire Windsor, Walter McGraily Rosemary Theby, Montague Love and Paul Panzer. Mr. Carewe ts particularly proud of th t that there is nothing of the Hollywood Sahara about this latest cinema‘ effort and likewise nothing of the western costume company’s sheik-wearing apparel in it. Everything is genuine even to is merely the game, as old as life itself, which women are always play- ing in their own behalf or in behalf of those they love. The big inter-|] SCENES FROM WHAT IS PROB, est in the picture lies in its showing up this game so that all those who are playing it unconsciously are able to understand it—and its complete justification. COLUMBIA WILL OFFER NEW PROGRAM THURSDAY The current attraction at the Columbia theater closes there this evening. A new show will be pre- sented tomorrow. Marie Hart and company are among the best per- formers in this ‘week’s vaudeville. She is remarkably versatile. Not only dces she stand at ease on a wire but sings in very good soprano at the same time. Later she gives full play to her excellent voice. The program is indeed a varied one which she and the male member of the duo present. Bob Milikin appeals to those who Uke jokes in rapid fire fashion. He is pleasantly satiric on a number of present-day questions. Evelyn Bargelt starts in with some simple crayon drawings and ending with a beautiful sunset scene which gains the applause of the spectators. Lennox Sisters and Rayburn have a laughable act. Bud Brownie’s m this time is full of MANN DANGERS APPEAR AT THE RIALTO TONIGHT Floyd and Mann Sisters and pupils will present at 7:30 and 9:30 o'clock this evening nine dance numbers at the Rialto theater. The same pro- gram will be repeated tomorrow eve- ning. The Mann dancers have al- ways appealed to Casper audiences. It is probable that this may be the last appearance of the Mann Sisters here. The program is in addition to the regular picture program, “Broadway Broke.” ZANE GREY STORY WILL COME TO RIALTO SOON The Irvin Willat Paramount pro- duttion, “The Heritage of the Des ert,” a picturization of the novel of the same name by Zane Grey, who personally supervised the screen ver- cal show at fire comedy, the extras, who were not touched either by a costumer or makeup “THE WOMAN GAME” NOW PLAYING AT IRIS There 1s promise of exceptional entertainment the Iris theater today where Elaine Hammerstein in “The Woman Game” will be offered featured attraction.
