aero s CORN HIGHER, WHEAT SLUMPS Wheat Selling Causes De- cline In Chicago Trading CHICAGO, March 22.—It took but Uttle selling to make wheat prices decline today in the early dealings. Demand was lacking and the down- turn carried the market to within %c of the lowest figures reached of late. Favorable crop conditions in the southwest remained the chief factor. Opening prices, which ranged from unchanged to %@\c off, May, $1.04% to $1.05 and July, $1.06%, were followed by a moderate actback Adverse weather and prospective Indefinite delay to the crop move- ment gave firmness to corn. Com- mission house buying of small lots Was a good deal in evidence. After opening at a shade lower to %o up, May, 78%c, the market sagged somewhat and then scored slight gains. Crop damage in southwestern states tended to lift oats. Starting nged to %c higher, May, 47% c, the market showed an ad- vance for all deliveries # Provisions were steadied by hog strength.
