A.; Results Expected. Automobile mergers took on a new significance for the Individual Motorist last week when ft was an- nounced that an agreement had been reached whereby the American itomobile association and the Na- ional Motorist association would . consolidate and go over the top together in the interests of more than 15,000,000 car owners. Nearly 700 clubs throughout the country will be affected by the con- solidation, the result being such as virtually to double the service which organized motorists receive as a re- sult of membership in their local automobile clubs. Heretofore it has been necessary for a motorists to belong to several national associa- tions in order to enjoy reciprocal service privileges on tour, but under the new arrangement the tervice privileges are practically uninter- rupted from coast to coast. The combined membership of the two clubs will be close to 1,000,000 in the near future and as this rep- resents the motorists in the country who conscientiously work for the simplification of traffic, the safety of the roads and the convenience of travel, it is expected that some im-~- portant steps will be taken during 1924 in the interests of better motoring. home last week.
