FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 1924 ———— he Casper Daily Cridune YOUTH WALKS TO DENVER $0 BIL MY RIE Pair Stranded in Old Cheyenne Suffer Hardships. CHEYENNE, Wyo., March 7.— This is the story of a boy's gallantry show 18-year-old Cecil Maddox of Denver “made good” to a girl. Mary Conda, 18, Maddox and an- other pair of Denver young people left Denver last Sunday on a “joy ride” that brought them well toward Cheyenne before they experienced tire trouble. Repairs so long de- layed them that they decided to come to this city instead of return- ing to Denver, and from here to start out to “see the world”. Mon- day morning, however, the other couple changed their minds and re- turned to Denver. Mary and Cecil stuck to their decision until Tues- day, when the fact was impressed upon them that the world is a cold, cold place unless you have money. An inventory of their resources re- vealed that Mary had an eyebrow pencil and a lipstick, that Cecil had a few’ pennies. “There's only one thing to do,” out Wednesday afternoon, was heading south on the highway —afoot GRADING WORK BEGINS ON MVKINLEY —STEET SUBWAY BY RAILROAD the North McKinley street subway under the railroad yards to furnish easy and safe access to North Cas- per districts. The Chicago ministers informally called Inspector Bean's attention to Voliva’s alleged ether wave curling utterances several weeks ago. Since that time, Voliva’s talks have been taken down stenographically as he broadcast them. Here are some of the things said. “All young people who live else- where than Zion City are headed for hell.” “There is too much petting in the world today, Why, if I saw a young man even put his arm around the back of the chair of the girl he was sitting with at my church, I would tear off his arms and legs and throw them out the door.” “There are no young folks outside of Zion City who are not dirty devils full of the lugt of hell.” “I hear 82,000 visitors are coming here to sight-see next summer. Well I've got the best police force in the world waiting for them, and if-they break one of my laws—and God has made these laws through me—there ‘Will _be 82,000 prisoners in our.jail."" There were others that would curl ® telegraph wire, even if they wouldn't harm the ether, so they can't be sent.
