‘The first of a series of recitals for December was given by a few of the pupils of Lulu Elizabeth Sams at the Studio, 515 South. Durbin 8t., ‘Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 o'cock, Every pupil present Played several compositions from memory, also had their instructions in concert deportment. Those re- celying certificates this week for completing certain grades in their piano playing, were the following: Zelia Wyatt, Elia Kathvon, Charlotte Mason, Teresa Gunn. A scale contest took place, in which the following pupils played the most excellence scales: John War- ren O'Donnell, Helen Park, Betty Kittle. Malena Bryne sang “Where Did You Come From, Baby Dear” by Siemonn. All decorations were artistically. carried out in Christmas colors with a lighted Christmas tree and candles to add to the enjoyment of the entertain- ment, Ten guests attended.
