Casper will have a branch office of the Mountain States Inspection bureau and will consequently be bet- ter served in the matter of insur- ance information if a resolution signed by 34 local insurance agents and sent today to the headquarters of the bureau receives favorable action. It is brought out in the resolution that for many reasons Casper should have such an office with a branch manager in charge. The manager would make it his business to give information con- cerning ratings and to keep records, maps, rates, diagrams, schedules and all other data pertinent to this city or locality. At the present time such @ manager spends only two or three weeks at a time in Casper and then goes away again. If a new building ts to be insured he has to be sent for, and a great deal of de- lay results. The resolution also brings out the following important facts: “The volume of business trans- acted at this location is very greatly in excess of that of any other cit} or territory in the state. Practical- ly all companies transacting busi- ness in the state have representa- tives here. The strategic location of Casper as to railroad facilities and its ease of access to the greater amount of specially rated property here and in the immediately ad- jacent territory, others are the con- tinued necessity of rating of new and the re-rating of-old properties at Casper, the rapid and continuous growth of this the largest and fast- est growing city in the state, the importance of the class and amount of insured properties, the necessity and imperative need of more effi clent service to the larger and more important clientele whose plants o1 headquarters are maintained at or near Casper, the larger number of agencies, particularly in comparison with any other city or town In the state, the large numbers of operat ing companies whose interests will be the better served by the facilities afforded the agents représenting them, the large number of small yet important communities and prot erties immediately surrounding reached only from the city Casper.” BRICK LAYERS—Read what Grandfather says on last page. Walker, negress, who started life as a laundress and left a million dollar estate after inventing a re- markable hair treatment for ne- groes, was married Saturday to Dr. Henry Gordon Jackson of Chicago. The wedding was one of the most magnificent and largely at- tended of New York's social sea- son, Eighteen hundred negro guests filled every available space in the large St. Phillips Episcopal church and as many more, whose car- riages and limousines extended for two blocks in every direction. were disappointed at being unable to enter the church. Gorgeous decorations, rich gowns and jewels, such as seldom have been seen, made the interior of the edifice a striking setting for the ceremony as the first notes of Lohengrin’s wedding march swelled from the organ. Standing at the altar, in formal morning attire, Dr, Jackson saw his bride sweep down the aisle on the arm of F. B. Ransom, man- ager of the Mme. Walker Manu- facturing company, which pro- duces the famous hair restorer The bride’s dress drew gasps of admiration. It was of sheer chiffon, beaded with sea pearls over bride's satin. A tulle veil was attached to a headdress of pearls and was caught with orange blossoms. ‘The bride's mother wore a gown of gold metal cloth designed and made in Paris.
