Another cause of the present depres sion has ben the fear that labor victory would mean an immediate capital levy. 40 WOMEN TO BE CANDIDATES. LONDON, Nov. 14—One of the outstanding features of the election will be the number of women candi dates. It is as yet too early to give any thing like a complete lst, but it is estimated that between 30 an‘ 49 women seek admission fo the house of commons. Lady Astor will again appeal to her Plymouth electorate and it is understood that Mrs. Wintringham will ask her Louth constituency to return her. It is less certain that the third woman member of the present house, Mrs. Philipson, wil! make a contest for her Berwick seat. She is Iikely to retire in favor of her husband, whom she was chosen to succeed when he was unseated Among the other women candi ates is Miss Williams, daughter of Aneurin Williams. Miss Williams will probably be the youngest woman seeking election. She is 27 TRAIL ORDERED ing pledged the assistance of the several posts of the state to the schools, churches, lodges and other institutions which are sponsoring programs tn furtherance of the sig- nific ance of the week. The grade crossing problem has long been a troublesome one in Cas- per, and would no doubt grow more | so as the city expands. The action of the council and the raflroad com- pany is a very evident step forward in the growth of this city. The sidewalk crossing proposition was discussed at some length tn ths Tribune office this morning by J. B. Barnes Jr., Wyoming attorney for the Northwestern railroad. He stated that the lack of adequats| morally quick, and one of the most grade crossing sidewalks in many sections of the city through which the railroad passes, has been due not to the railroad officials but to laxity upon the part of our city council. ¢ “Many months ago,” said Mr. First Congregational church of Casper will be brought to a close. | Dr. Allingham says, “I have never opened a new work anywhere in which the interest has been s0 keen and the response so whole: heated.
