PAUL, Minn., June 6.—Minne- sota’s special primary June 18, and the special election July 16 will be held as planned, the state supreme court in a decision handed down to- day denying the right of courts to interfere in the process of selecting a successor to the late Knute Nelson. The supreme court decision follow- ed arguments yesterday on a motion to quash the alternative writ, signed after Judge R. D. O'Brien of the Ramsey county district court had is- sued an order against Mike Holm, secretary of state, George J. Ries, county auditors and others requiring them to show cause why they should not be enjoined from carrying out provisions of the governor's writ of election. The supreme court held that the district court's provision of power to interfere with agencies designated hy Governor Preus to carry out the pro- visions of the proclamation, calling the election, and denied the motion to quash the alternative writ which weuld require the county district court to show cause why it should not be restrained from interfering with the primary and election. The court also issued an absolute writ of prohibition restraining the Ramsey county district court from taking any further action in the mat- ter.
