Che Casper Daily Cribune WEEKS ADVISES CANAL DEFENSE IMPROVEMENTS WASHINGTON, June 5.—Secretary Weeks has returned to his desk at the war department ‘after an absence of several weeks on the inspection tour that carried him from New York to Porto Rico, Panama and up the west coast to San Francisco. Mem- bers of the congressional party ac- companying him on the trip continued either to Alaska or Hawaii, but Secre- tary Weeks came home by train, stopping at Salt Lake, Omaha and Fort Leavenworth to look over the army stations.
