If he has failed to show proper and reasonable economy in the people’s business—if he has increased taxes instead of lowering them when the people are hard pressed— thn he has had his day and should be retired. Should give way to a man who can and will do these things for the people. A man who knows how, and has demonstrated throughout his career that he does know how. A mpn with experience and initiative. A man tried and found true. A man whose word carries conviction. A man from whom no diagrams and explanations are necessary. John Hay is that man. Make him your governor and he will reduce your state expenses, lower your taxes and place your affairs on a business basis. The primary election comes on August 22.
