J. O'Connor, Kendrick, Fowler and Taylor Re- ceive Indorsement. John Salmond was elected perma- nent chairman of the newly organized Council for Progressive Political Ac- tion in Wyoming at a meeting of that organization held last night in Labor hall. Robert McElviny was chosen to fill the office of vi@e president for the coming year, and J. B, Leonard was re-elected secretary. C. BE. Benham is the newly elected treasurer. The council adopted a number of resolution., The following candidates for offices in the various state depart- ments have been authorized by the new council: P. J. O'Connor for gov- ernor; John Kendrick for United States senator; Edward Taylor, pres- ent mayor of Cheyenne, for secretary of state; Wade Fowler for man from the Casper district. The following national were adopted at this meeting by the Counell for Progressive Political Ac- tion: 1.—Government ownership and op- eration of railroads for service and not for private profit. 2—Heavy federal inheritance tax on large fortuies and Keavy. income tax # on large incomes, and a taxation of excess profits, - 3—Oppose declaration of war with- out a referendum, except in case of actual invasion of this country. 4—To call for strict federal control of national resources. 5—Government action to stabilize prices of farm products, 6—Limiting power to issue credit to the ‘federal government. 7—Legislation ending the practice of United States supreme court de- claring acts of congress unconstitu- tional. 8—Retaining the people's ships in government ownership and operating them for service instead of for spec- ulation. $—General amnesty for political prisoners.
