Read the statement of Mr. Hayward Thompson whose case has attracted nation-wide at- tention. Statement of Hayward Thompson This is to certify that the following facts are true in the main. Onor about November 20; 1921, while residing in Kansas City, Mo.,.I suffered an attack of amnesia. While suffering this condition I roamed over the country using the name of Thomas A. ‘Anderson. On February 2, 1922, I was registered under the name of Thomas ‘A. ‘Anderson at the Auditor- ium Hotel, Denver, Colo. I was approached-on the street by a man who claimed that he knew me as Hayward Thompson. He stated that I had served with him in the active forces of the United States Marine Corps during the world war and that I was discharged for disability due to in- juries incurred while in the service. This meeting caused me to realize my condition and I sought relief. I suffered’an-attack‘oftotal’blindness on or about February 16, 1922. I called on-Dr. Dean, chief surgeon of St. Luke’s Hospital, Denver; Dr. E. V. Delehanty, the nerve special- ist; also Dr. Shekaney. I was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and four days later my sight returned of its own accord. During this period of time I had no memory of events prior to February 2; 1922. My-mind on that score was a total blank. The above-mentioned physicians informed me that my only avenue of relief. would be through an-operation: on the brain. I sought Dr. Harvey Cushing of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospi- tal, Boston, Mass. Dr. Cushing is dean of the Harvard Medical School. His advice was to consult the Mayo Brothers, Rochester, Minn. Their advice was to:consult Dr. Ernest Sachs of the Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., and so on.ad infinitum. ‘All advised an operation but would not-un- dertake to perform it. ‘As a last resort I thought I would chance Chiro- practic adjustments. I visited Dr. Leo L. Spears, Palmer Chiro- practor, 610 Majestic Bldg., Denver, Colo., April 28, 1922. After-taking three adjustments my memory was completely restored. Since that date I have steadily gained weight and consider-myself in good health, con- sidering the nature of my injury. I attribute my recovery to the science of Chiropractic and will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is suffering from any ailment which human kind is heir to. Hayward Thompson The practice of Chiropractic consists of the adjustment, with the hands, of the movable segments of the spinal column to normal posi- tion. for the purpose of releasing the prisoned impulse. No adjuncts, such as vibrators, etc., are used. . ° Drs. J. H. and A. G. Jeffrey CHIROPRACTORS Phones—Office 706, Residence 93 G. and E. G.
