The church is congregational in {ts form of government, the congregation having most of the power within its own hands. For several week sthe Rev. H. A Anspach, missionary superintendent of the United Lutheran church for the states, of Colorado and Wyoming, has been canvassing Casper in the inter- ests of an organization of his church here. Mr. Anspach found that there were at least 250 families in Casper who preferred the Lutheran church and such encouragement was given that the organizer feels that the enter. prise will be a marked success. The general mission board of the church is behind the organization and will assist financially in a substan- tial way. It is possible that MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS Read This Letter from Mrs. W. S. The general committee in charge of | the campaign are optimistic regarding the” outcome. They have the fai‘> in the residents of Casper and Na trona county to feel can turn down workers for squarely turning their backs on hu manitarian principles. The relief of the unavoidable misery of the few un fortunates, those who are nearly down and out, is the plain duty of the whole community. And there is no agency fitted as ie the Salvation army to perform this work for the whole community. The committee also wishes to make it pla that chis is distinctly a home ervics effort. Funds derived from |the contributions recetved during the | campaign are to be used exclusively for the operating expenses of the Sal vation army in reilef work in Casper |and Natrona County. Figures pre viously published in The Tribune show that the admimistration of the | Salv: army makes it possible for that organization to:spend in local re lief work approximately two dollars for each dollar of funds. Consequently each contribu tor can be justified in feeling that his contribution is a direct investment in the morale of his own home com munity.
