MAN ARRESTED IN LOUISIANA (NOT WANTED Picture Reveals Case of Mis- taken Identity in Case of -Suspect Believed to Be Orville Jennings. ‘The man held by the authorities at ‘Lake Charles, La, thought to be Or- ville Jennings, one of the quartet of prisoners who escaped from the coun- ty Jail here October 11 is not the Cas- ,per man, according to reports made by Sheriff Joe L, Marquis upon receipt of @ picture from the Louisiana authort- ues. ‘The man arrested’ in Louisiana gave his name at Charles Jackson and ad- mitted to J, A. Lyons chief of police of Lake Charles that he had come from Casper and that he had been em- ployed as a pipeline worker in this vicinity. Jennings, the man who is being sought and who officials here. were hopeful was the man held at Lake Charles, is sald to have been the man who made the keys which aided the criminals in making the escape from ‘the county jail. He is wanted in Na- rona county for participation in high- way robbery, one of his victims hay- ing been a deputy sheriff under a for- mer sheriff regime. A reward of $250 is offered for hie apprehension. In addition to Jennings L. B. Nich- olson, convicted o the murder of Ead- ward Schuster; Robert Morton wanted or car theft and James O. Howard wanted for stealing a Ford car, es- caped from the county jail here. ‘There is a standing reward of $750 ‘for the capture of Nicholson dead or alive; $250 reward for the capture of Morton and $250 reward for the cap- ture of Howard. Hundreds of communications have been received by Natrona county au- thorities from all sections of the coun- try telling them of the apprehension of one or more of the mem who par- ticipated in the jail delivery. Minute {ngpection of the cases, however, have proven these theo: incorrect. EXCAVATING OPENS UP GRAVES CLOSED FIFTY YEARS AGO, CHEYENNE CHEYENNE, Wyo., Jan. 12.—Three graves in which burials were made more than half a century ago were violated Monday by workmen excayat- ing for a cellar in Residence Park addition to the Cheyenne townsite. The addition consists of a frontier burial ground the last interment in which was made in 1871, From time to time numerous skeletons have been dug up there during the last dozen years. Two of the skeletons disinterred Monday were those of men and one that of a \woman. Fragments of cloth end buttons found with one skelston Indicate that the deceased was a sol- Ger. The length of the leg bones in- dicates that he was phenomenally tall and the teeth, in perfect condition even after more “than 60 years in ‘he ground, suggest that he was young. ‘The other skeleton was found amid mouldering remains of corduroy trous- ers and a brown flannel shirt. The teeth, worn down to mere stubs, in- @icate that the deceased was an old man, a theory further borne out by wisps of gray hair which cling to the skull. The younger man had Ught brown hair. In a purse found amid the bones of the young man were sev- eral lead bullets of large calibre evi- bor, is the first of Kington has vise of a typical ‘The Story of of “Jim, James G. Traffic relief for North Casper loomed as a Possibility Tuesday when special committee appointed by the directors of the Chamber of Commerce announced that they had prepared a feastble plan for relief which called for tunneling under the company tracks from city property across the Bur- lington right-of-way to North Casper at a point opposite the potnt where McKinley street touches the rightof- way, Such @ plan, tf worked out will en able persons living in that vicinity of North Casper to croas to the main sections of Casper without having Wespass on railroad property and w: relieve the necessity of walking ‘¢o Center street to cross on the only out let to the northern sections now open. In addition the committes also re- ported In favor of opening up B street its entire distance to Durbin street #0 that persons coming into Casper over the Yellowstone highway will have a irect routa to travel until they are Well within the city Imits. B. B. Brooks, chairman of the spe. ial committee which handled the re- Uef gtan announced that he had con- ferred with Superintendent John ¢. Grisinger of the Burlington and hed bee pledged the raflroad system's oo- operation. ‘The first step to bring about the Proposed relief, according to report made, resulted in engineers of the olty of Casper and the Burlington studying the project and reporting that it was entirely feasible anf that two tunnels for traffic bound each Way could easily be worked out. Mr. Brooks in behalf of his commit- made a motion which was duly carried that the Burlington Ratiroad company be requested to construct such tun- | nels to provide relief to North Casper. In closing his remarks Mr. Brooks said that the average person has no conception of the amount of traffic that fs confined to North Center street or to persons trespassing on the rail- road yards due to the fact that there are no other conventent outlets. School children by the hundrede come to this section of Casper each day from North Casper and many of them endanger their lives by crossing the Burlington tracks, crawling under cars and engaging tn other dangerous practices. Mr. Brooks announced in behalf of the Burlington that the road was as anxious as anyone else to avold the danger of trespass and the annoyance caused by the continual fear that someone will be killed or seriously tn- jured. $e Peebles was taken to Douglas by the officers. Both Natrona county and Converse county authorities par- ticipated in the raid and were each backed up by duly issued warrants be- cause the location of the Peebles prop- erty was not known ‘Gefinitely in which county the house was situated. patna i el Among the Chinese the Buddhist knot is a symbol of longevity, y-at-Law, Suites Pestat 16, Rrowascad Block bigase s & STIRRETT 3089-10-11 Oi I neengs Bldg.
