An employe of the garage rushed wildly to the sheriff's office yester- | day morning to report the theft. An investigation by the sheriff's office resulted in finding one of the rear doors pried from its hinges and to all appearances three of the machines missing. Hurried work resulted in finding two of the machines in another gar- age. A warning was left with the proprietors of the garages in which the cars were found to notify the sheriff's office if anyone attempted © remove them. | During the afternoon the sheriff's office was notified that one of the cars y4ad been called for at the garage where it had been left. One of the Meputies responded and placed the man under arrest. He claimed to he the owner of the machine and to veri- fy his statement he was taken to the garage. His claim was substantiated an@ he explained how the three cars happened to be missing. This man had sold a car and made delivery the following evening, and while he was in the garage to get his own car another customer ar- rived and took out the second ma- chine, When the salesman left that accounted for the disappearance of the three machines, The only feature which the authori- ties have not cleared up is how the rear door was pried from its hinges.
