FANS EXPECT REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS GRAPPLE TONIGHT Two Lively Boxing Mills to Precede Taylor-Savage Match at Iris Theater; Wrestlers Compare Well | in Weight, Strength and Mat Tactics DATTLE WHEN | | Tt will be a real battle. That’s the pre-match verdict for to- night’s wrestling match between Jack Taylor, Wyoming’s heavy- weight wrestling champ, and Steve Sayage, conqueror of Wladek Zbyszko, in the Iris Theater. Both wrestlers are on the ground and ready to go. Those familiar with Taylor’s condition believe the in- jury to his eyes may handicap him tonight. Big Jack arrived from the east wear- ing smoked glasses as a result of on ailment which was a@ hinderance in his match with Stanislaus Zbyszko in Chi- cago. Tonights affair will be a contest of weight against weight with the. pos- sible balance in favor of Savage on account of recent and past excellent records, Taylor on the other hand has an unusually fine record as a result of the last two or three years of wrest- ling. Taylor's appearance here on the Iris theater mat will be his first since be- ing thrown by Stan Zbyszko in the Windy City. Jack feels keenly this defeat but is just as confident that he will be able to continue in his winning stride, On account of the doubt as to the fi- nal outcome of the match tonight, an unusual amount of interest is being taken in Taylor's contest with Savage. If big Jack is able to decisively defeat Savage a match with one of the two Zbyszkos Is possible. An excellent card of preliminary box- ing bouts has been arranged by Gedrgoc MeLeod. Luxon Dunbar, a plucky fighter who featured in the Elks’ tour- nament last spring, and Rodgers of Hudson, Wyo., are expected to form the feature bout, although the bout in which Jerry Mahoney is scheduled to start is eXpected to win almost as much favor. Mahoney is a great favorito with the sport fans here on account of several uphill battle he has fought in recent athletic shows In the Iris. Tickets will be’ for sale at the Iris theater today following the closing of the advance sale at the Little Brick Jate today.
