Gilbert, Sr., who was kicked 5 to death by a stallion at his ranch home near Wright, this county, a coroner's jury has confirmed the original judg- ment of Coroner Jasper Brown that death was accidental. The jury was em- panelled, and the inquést held, after County Attorney Elwood Anderson had received’ a letter from E. J. Swan, a neighbor of Gilbert, intimating that the deceased's son, Matthew R. Gilbert, Jr. might have been responsible for the father's death. The inquest established that the son was innocent and that the father, as the coroner originally had decided, had been killed by a vicious horse wken he entered the animal's stall to feed it.
