NOW HEAVIEST IN CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PART Ranges Open ‘and Agicadicrell Prospects Look Up with Pre- cipitation of the Past Week BY GEORGE W. PITMAN (U. S, Weather Bureau, ) Snow occurred over most districts but was heaviest in central and north-cen- tral districts, being especially heavy in the Big Horn mountains. Dome Lake reported §4 inches snow on ground. Temperatures were somewhat ~armer than normal. Day temperatures aver- aged 45; night, 28; and daily extremes of 68, and 14 below zero were reported. Sunshine percentages were: Cheyenne, 66; Sheridan, 66; Lander, 86; Salt Lake, So far no damage has been report- ed as a result of the high winds Sunday and Monday. x Ranges aré open or partly open in most districts except the extreme west. While the week was somewhat hard on livestock in north districts, there were no complaints over southern, and stock, where fed, are holding their own. Bad roads and slow freight over central and northeastern districts have made the securing of feed difficult. Heavy snows the last two weeks have improved agricultural prospects, espe- ciatiy over central and east-central dis- tricts. Large quantities of ‘water and ice coming down creeks have caused considerable damage to roads and bridges in central Wyoming. High. Low. Tmp. Tmp. Pre. Wyo. -. - 61 12 T. VIENNA (By Maii)—One hundred thousand school children in Vienna are underfed and diseased as a résult of food shortage, lack of fuel and inade- quate hospital facilities, according to a survey recently made here by the American Red Cross. Advertising irk the newspapers by business houses has dwindled down to insignificant proportions, To take one imstance, Vienna's leading paper re- cently carried only 27 advertisements, 17 of which were offers to buy jewelry, 7 of skin disease specialists, 1 offer to buy old bottles and 2 offering face pow- ders for sale. natn Ta ed At Among the eatables consumed in one voyage of a giant Atlantic liner 5,000 pounds of meat, 1,400 pounds of tea, 107,400 pounds of flour, and forty tons of potatoes. ———____. IF YOU NEED A MEDICINE YO SHOULD HAVE THE BEST Have you “ever stopped to reason why it is that so many. products that are extensively advertised, all at once drop out of sight and are soon for- gotten? ‘The reason is plain—the ar: ticle did not fulfil the promise of the manufacturer. This applies more par- ticularly to a nvedicine.
