Producers and Refiners’ Corporation opened up an entirely new field a ftw miles south of the town of Wewoka, Seminole County, Okla., where its first well at 1,450 feet, encountered what is believed to be the productive sand of the Burkburnett pool, with the result that it is making 8,000,000 cubic feet of heavy wet gas and spraying oil. The tools barely touched the sand, and the well will not be drilled in until tank- age can be assembled. The new district is northeast of Burk- burnett and is in the midst of a vast amount of production. Several dry holes, all of them, however, showing a small amount of oil, were drilled in this district some years ago. The logs of these wells, carefully studied, revealed the existence of a structure, and it was on top of this dome that the first of the Producers and Refiners’ wells was located. The company owns several hundred acres of leases in the field. The Gates Oil Company and the ¥ Of and 1s Company each have interests in some of these properties. | Oil Up in California, The Standard Oil Company of Cali- fornin has advanced the posted price | for all grades of California crude oils 25 cents a barrel, effective yesterdag, New Company in Osage.
