Senator Jones, of Washington, is author of a bill to give the rank of officers to army nurses, while Senator | Moses, of New Hampshire, is author of a bill to increase from $30 to $100 a month the total liability allowance to soldiers, with an additional | allowance of $20 for dependents. FATAL SHOOTING LEADS TO DETENTION OF TWO SOLDIERS, GREEN RIVER GREEN RIVER, Wyo., July 23.- Roy W. Phillips, of Denver and Charles E. Mull of Grand Island, Neb., returned soldiers, are in the city i here charged with shooting and kill ing Gus Pappas and seriously wound- ing Peter Arapogonas, Greek owners of a Green River restaurant, at Rock Springs Sunday. A mob of Greek: gathered at the jail Monday night demanding that Phillips and Mull be turned over to them. Officials man- aged to disperse the mob without trouble. Phillips, the officials detlare, ad mits he fired the shots that killed Pappas and wounded Arapogonas. The authorities are looking up the past of Phillips and Mull, believing that they can explain numerous rob- beries that have occurred in west- ern yoming recently. !
