TUESDAY, JULY 22, 1919 CONTRACTS SIGNED FOR CRUDE, HEAD OF PLANT AT RIVERTON DECLARES H.N. Isenberg, general manager of the Rivertori-Wyoming Refining com- pany, is authority for the announce- ment that “we have signed contracts in our possession for the delivery on August 1 of several hundred barrels of oil per day. The exact amount of this oil, of course, will be deter- mined by the production from the various fields it comes from.” The company, Mr. Isenberg contin- ues, is not at liberty at this time to give the names of the field but assurance is given that contracts have been negotiated which guarantee steady operation of the refinery. This would indicate that the company is not wholly dependent upon the Dal- las crude, which is being refined at! present, and that there will be no shut-downs other than those caused by getting the equipment in order. No positive advices are available as yet as to where the oil is coming from, | present rumors being to the effect that it includes production from Pilot, Butte, Maverick Springs, Lander and the Cheno company wells. Definite} announcements can be expected with- in a short time. | oe LOSING WAY ON PLAINS ADDS 10 GRIEF CAUSED BY TROUBLE WITH CAA It’s not often that a Casper man gets lost on the Wyoming plains, but Claus Grieves had this unfortunate experience one day last week. He was called 50 miles out into the coun- try to repair a Packard motor car thet had been stranded. Out about 35 miles, Mr. Grieves lost the hub cap off the car he was driving and not much farther on he lost his way. The accident to his hub caused the axle to come out. But losing his bearings on a long stretch of barren ground forced him to sleep on the prairie all night. The next day he was able to find his wey back to the right road and finally reached the Packard car an extremely hungr. ‘motorist. The trip had taken three days and ‘Mr. Grieves acknowledges that he had his fill of Wyoming barren land on that one excursion. a In some parts of China it is stil) considered a high act of virtue for a woman to commit suicide after the death of her husband.
