CHEYENNE, Wyo., May 15.— (Special.)—Awarding of contracts for more than $10,000 worth of sup- plies for state institutions was an- nounced today by the state board of supplies. Last month the board advertised that it would receive sealed bids for all sorts of groceries, foodstuffs and equipment. in the various towns took advantage of the opportunity offered them, but in three cities—Casper, Rock Springs and Rawlins—they passed it up. As a result the contracts in those three instances were let to outsiders. For supplies for the state hospital at Casper the Kelley Mercantile com- pany of Cheyenne got the contract, having agreed to supply everything at wholesale prices. A. E. Roedel of Cheyenne agreed to furnish the needed drugs for $132.05. For the state hospital at Rock Springs the same thing took place. The Kelley people will supply the foodstuffs, and Mr. Roedel will fur- nish the drugs for $847.59. For the state penitentiary at Rawlins the Kelley company will also furnish whatever is needed, and whole- sale prices. The largest single contract in the list went to the Blythe-Fargo com- pany of Evanston. It will receive 33,597.86 for supplies for the state hospital for the insane. Mr. Roe del will sell $45.94 worth of drugs to the same institution. For approximately 2,400 pound: of flour for the state school for de- fectives at Lander the Lander Flo: Mills got the contract at a price o $71.50. The Kelley company wil! furnish the other supplies. at For the Big Horn Hot Springs , reserve near Thermopolis, Wood: Brothers of that city received the supply contract at a price of $738.70. Merchandise selling for $744.44 will be sold by the Ranch Home & Supply company of Sheridan to tie state hospital in that city.
