THURSDAY, 24, 191 PAGE SEVEN TWILL PAY YOU TO READ TOD AY AND EVERY OTHER DA cTLDIERS AND SHLORS TAKE IVER THE CLUB Permanent Organization Formed to Assume Responsibility ; Mothers’ League Will Still Be Main ‘‘Backer.” _ A meeting was held last night to permanently organize the Soldiers and Sailors’ Club in this city, and which will eventually revolve itself into a community center. The pur- pose of the meeting last night was to place the organization under the supervision of returned soldiers and relieve the Mothers’ League, sponsors of the club, of further responsibil- ity in connection with the organiza- tion. However, this league promises to stand behind the boys at all times and lend whatever assistance it can to maintain a permanent organiza- tion here. The Mother’s League turns éver to the new organization, a substantial treasury balance and the nucles for a building fund which will be used in promoting a club building here. The meeting last night was called to order by temporary chairman, Edgar S. Morris and C. R. Peterson acting as temporary secretary. Mr. Morris was later elected unanimously as permanent president. The other officers elected were as follows: Ed- win Bean, vice president; Kestler secretary; Lt. R. H. Nichols. A committee composed of E. Hus- sey, Captain C. P. Plummer and w. H. Fuller was appointed to draft the bylaws and constitution and a committee composed of R. T. God- frey, George B. Barnes and N. Lar- n was appointed to confer with the Mothers’ League committee in re- gard to organization. Before calling the next meeting for Monday, April 28th, the new organization cast a vote of thanks to the Mothers’ League for its efforts in their behalf. BAPTISTS NERA GOAL WITH 75 PER CENT OF VICTORY FUND DONATED Thpee-fourths of the quota set for Wyoming in the Baptist workers this week started upon thc last lap of their drive to attain the goal established by the laymen’s com- mittee. Z. C. O'Farrell, state direc tor of the campaign, was in Casper Wednesday with glowing accounts of progress already made and optimis- tie over the probable success of the movement in this state. The Baptists in promoting the suc ess of their own drive are also tak- ing advantage of the opportunity to urge the purchase of Liberty bonds upon their members. Liberty bonds are as acceptable as any other form of currency and the church carries out the purpose and desire of the gov- ernment by pledging itself to retain all bonds tendered by donors. Many members already have taken advant age of this suggestion and have dis- posed of obligations to country and church at the same time.
