(By U d Press.) DETROIT, Mich., April 23.—The present-day electrically driven street car 1s on the way to the scrap-heap. The forests of poles, innumerable miles of wires and cables and power- houses are doomed. Street railway traffic will be revo- lutionized by a new street car, mo- tivated by a gasoline engine, all of its own. It will carry its own power, depending on no external agency.
