Curtis Hill, state highway engineer, recelved notice while here togoto Pleasant Hill tmmediately to approve the contract which had just been awarded for the construc- tion of four and one-half miles of ; hard surface road from the Jackson count road to Pleasant Hill. Horace Ruseell Shelton and Ray- mond Skeeler, two of the little boys who were injured in the boiler explo- sion at Adrian, died the last of the week from their injuries. Horace Shelton, son of Rev. Shelton, the Baptist minister, died Thursday af- ternoon, and Raymond Skeeler suc- cumbed to his tnjuries on Sunday morning. These two little fellows, while badly burned and bruised, it was thought for awhile would re- cover, but 1t is believed now that they received internal injuries. Ray- mond was @ grandson of Rev. Shel- ton and lived with the family. The two little fellows were thus closely related, were inseparable compan- fons and occupied the same seat at echool. Horace was 6 years 11 months and 23 days, Ra) mond was 7 years, 3 months and 16 days old. Tue funeral of the former was held Saturday afternoon and the latter Sunday afternovun, both from the Baptist church. The school children turned out aud marched at both funerals. Iv is not thought there will be any other fatalities, Most of the children injured have fully recovered and re- returned to school.
