They did not like the way they did business,|Salem neighborhood Friday and They concluded they did not want anything to do with the company. They have but little farther to go to other lines. We believe that thecom- pany did {njustice to the men that own the short lines, Geo. Rubel, Me- Fadden, Drysdale, Gilberts and Dr. Smith. They paid extra to have thelr own Ines. They paid $3.00 each for the drop at the switch board and pald for the wire, and further they paid $25.00 each {nto the com- pany. The fight was on McFadden and Drysdale. They had a phone in each store and their house for the benefit of their patrons should they call for them, when they were at dinner, They allowed the public to use their phones to talk, and they had to keep them up at their ownex- penee, and where did the company get the right to say McFaddenand Drysdale should not have the right to use thelr own property, as they saw fit as long as they did not use it to the hurt of thelr nelghbors. There are many fair-minded people that belong to the company, and we think) after they understand the matter they will make wrongs right. They paid the same toll as the other mem- bers of the company Vivian Allen, who has been attend- ing school at Kansas City the past at that place, came very near losing his arm, but being able to {mme- diately receive the best of medical ald, we are glad to say that he has recovered.
